Thomas S. Monson

Student Success Statement
“Our very business in life is not to get ahead of others…but to get ahead of ourselves.”

Thomas S. Monson

I think that he is right because we should always get ahead of ourselves. We should show others that we are good people. Should never try to show off to others but just be good to ourselves.

Student Success Statement
“True wealth is of the heart, not of the purse.”

Og Mandino

I think that it is right. Many people that are rich and have money think that they are better than everyone else. You are kind person if you are wealthy but still have a kind heart and do not use all that money as an advantage.

Allergist

Student Success Statement
“Real wealth is not so much what we have as what we are.”

Sterling W. Sill

My opinion on this statement is that some people like you for who you are, while others just like you by your wealth and not by your personality and character.

Acupuncture

Acupuncture
Duties and Responsibilities:
Acupuncture is the stimulation of specific acupuncture points along the skin of the body involving various methods such as penetration by thin needles or the application of heat, pressure, or laser light. It is a form of complementary and alternative medicine and a key component of traditional Chinese medicine.
Salary:
$75,000-$80,000
Education:
Acupuncturist licenses are state administered but most states use the NCCAOM exams. For certification, NCCAOM requires graduation from an ACAOM-accredited program, transcripts and an examination.

Reflection:

wouldn't want to become an acupuncturist because it doesn't really seem like the type of job for me. I wouldn't feel right poking people and sticking needles into them. Needles already freak me out and I wouldn't want to poke someone because I would feel like I’m going to insert the needle to deep or hurt them.

“You cannot do wrong and feel right. It is impossible.”

Ezra T. Benson

In my own personal opinion, yes, you cannot do wrong and feel right. When I do or say something wrong and I know that it is going to affect someone I end up feeling guilty about what I had said or have done. I feel that if you do something wrong and it doesn't affect you in any way, you don’t have a heart.

Acupressure

Acupressure

Duties and Responsibilities:
Acupressure is an alternative medicine technique similar in principle to Acupuncture. In treatment, physical pressure is applied to acupuncture points with the aim of clearing blockages in these meridians. Pressure may be applied by hand, by elbow, or with various devices.
Salary: $81,000-$82,000
Education:
To become an Acupressure Professional you must possess a high school diploma or a GED certificate.

I wouldn’t want to be an Acupressure Professional because it isn’t really my type of career. I am a big germaphobe and I wouldn’t be able to touch someone because it would freak me out.

Ophthalmologist

Ophthalmologist
Duties and Responsibilities:
Ophthalmologists are physicians who specialize in the treatment of eye disorders and diseases. They treat vision problems and write prescriptions for both pharmaceuticals and corrective eyeglass lenses. When necessary, they perform eye surgery. Most ophthalmologists are in private practice, however some are employed by hospitals or clinics, and others perform research.
Average Salary: $90,000-$150,000
Educational Requirements:
Only physicians may study to become ophthalmologists. After completing medical school and an internship, an ophthalmologist must complete a three to five year residency in an approved ophthalmology program. After completing their residency program they must pass an examination to be certified.

Reflection:wouldn't want to be an ophthalmologist because I wouldn't be able to perform eye surgery on anyone; although I will go to school and study it I would be too nervous to handle that kind of responsibility. Any wrong movement and that person could be blind.
