Ambulance
Dispatcher
Duties and
Responsibilities:
An Ambulance
Dispatcher answers 911 telephones calls, determines the type of emergency and
its location. Dispatchers keep detailed
records about the call that they take. They use computers to log important
facts, such as the nature of the incident and the name and location of the
caller. Some dispatchers use maps and weather reports when helping emergency response
teams. Others monitor alarm systems.
Salary:
$37,000-$57,000-
Education:
Most
dispatchers are required to have a high school diploma. They must past a written
exam and a typing test.
Reflection:
I wouldn't want
to be an Ambulance Dispatcher because I am the type of person to panic. I wouldn't want that type of responsibility knowing that I have someone on the line who’s
loved one or even they might die.
